Good night my sweet child,
Rest your weary head.
May the Lord bless and keep you.
May the Lord grant you peace.
You are my sweet child and I love you dear, but you are a child of God and He loves you even more.
I cannot always see you but Jesus is always near.
So rest my sweet child and dream good dreams – may they be filled with joy.
And one more thing, as you drift off to your sleepy land,
Your Daddy in heaven has defeated the one who would harm you.
So do not fear the darkness for Jesus is your nightlight.
So good night my sweet child and rest.
You are in good hands.
Evening blessing
May…
May the Lord bless and keep you.
May His Love overwhelm you.
May His strong hand protect you.
May Your sins convict you.
May His grace still amaze you.
May His forgiveness humble you.
May His Spirit transform you.
May Jesus comfort you.
May this Truth give you peace,
this night and always.
Rest, child of God, rest.
Amen.
Rest-filled Blessing
I post this evening blessing for you as a reminder as you prepare to retire for the day. I will be meditating on this shortly; before I fall asleep. There is so much swimming in my head by days end, that I just need something peaceful to reflect on as I drift off. May you find peace through this blessing.

May the peace of God through Jesus Christ comfort your weary soul.
May it soothe all you hurts.
May it calm all your fears.
May Your heavenly Father hold the Evil One at bay;
fighting the fight as you rest your tired body.
As you close your eyes and drift off to sleep this night,
may your final images be that of your Savior:
– Cradling you in his arms,
– Gazing into your eyes,
– Whispering once again his promises to you.
May these images fill you with peace so that your body can be restored for another day of showing the world the love of God.
Rest assured, child of God, that your Savior watches over you.
You are loved by your Father in heaven.
Rest with the knowledge that you are filled with His blessing.
Amen.
Good Night Promise
The writing of this the other night brought me peace as I drifted off to sleep. I guess that is why I write many of these evening blessings/poems while in bed. It is good for the brain and the soul to give them something else to chew on other than the stress and troubles of the day. At the end of the day; powerless to do anything about what happened that day or what will happen tomorrow, all I want to know is that my life is secure in God’s hands. I want to know that everything will ultimately be alright.
May this poem bring you peace as you retire at day’s end. God’s promise to you, in Jesus Christ, is that you are His forever. Even in the vulnerable state of sleeping, your soul is always safe in Him. Let your troubles go and rest in Him.

Good night my lovely one.
Lay down your weary head.
Relax those tired eyes.
Your day is now all done.
Good night my little one.
Your soul is safely kept.
If death shall quickly come.
In Jesus you have won.
Good night my chosen child.
You will be always mine.
My longing gaze at you.
Will always bring a smile.
Now rest and sleep this night.
And do not fear or fret.
I’ll keep you close to me.
You’ll never leave my sight.
Peace-filled Night
“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.” [2 Thessalonians 3:16 ESV]
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” [John 14:27 ESV]
The sun is racing across the sky trying to reach its finish line.
There is no stopping its advance.
It will finish its course.
It will dip below the land.
Its purpose none can confine.
Soon darkness will appear on the scene seemingly covering the light.
There is no stopping its advance.
It will darken our doors.
Giving shadows center stage.
Its presence can cause some fright.
But the darkness will not win,
for Jesus is within,
and much to its chagrin,
it will take it on the chin.
So rest your weary head and your fears you can release.
There is no stopping His advance.
God our father reigns on high
His kingdom will never end.
May His love give you peace.
God’s Got This
As you rest in darkness,
may you know the light of Christ around you.
As you sleep in vulnerability,
may you know the shelter that is the Lord.
As you drift of to dream land,
may you know the reality of your salvation through Jesus.
As your body rejuvenates,
may your soul be guarded and sustained.
As you live in a world that must be on guard during the darkness,
may you rest secured that a Kingdom is coming where the gates are never shut.
Oh child of God,
the Lord is your refuge;
His Kingdom is everlasting;
and His holy angels have charge over you.
Take comfort and be at peace…
…God’s got this.

Tonight
Tonight…
May your fleeting thoughts
be that of your Savior.
May your final image
be that of the cross.
May your pleasant dreams
be that of your eternal home.
May your constant yearning
be that of Jesus’ righteousness.
Tonight…
May you rest in peaceful slumber
and awake in joyful thankfulness;
knowing who you are
and
whose you are.
May God your Father,
Jesus your Lord Savior,
and the Holy Spirit
hold and keep you,
Tonight…and always.

Your Peace Is Here
Oh Lord God,
at the break of day, your peace was there.
In my work,
in my play,
with my children,
with my wife,
with my friends,
Your peace was there.
In the midst of conversations, Your peace was there.
While pondering your will, Your peace was there.
Immersed in study, Your peace was there.
Pouring my heart out to You, Your peace was there.
Struggling with temptation, Your peace was there.
Grappling with decisions, Your peace was there.
Receiving a hug from my little girl, Your peace was there.
Melting while my little boy gazes into my eyes, Your peace was there.
All through my day; in all situations; through the ups and downs, Your peace was there.
And now…
Relaxing at home, Your peace is here.
Reflecting on my day, Your peace is here.
Remembering Your grace, Your peace is here.
Your peace was with me throughout this day and now Your presence overwhelms me as I prepare to commit my tired body to the vulnerable state of sleeping. And I am thankful for…
Your peace is here and Your presence is here and therefore…
I shall not fear.
In the name of Jesus Christ, my Prince of Peace I pray, Amen.

May the Prince of Peace give you comfort and peace this night.
The Lord be with you all.
